Shiatsu - restore your body & mind

Shiatsu is a dynamic bodywork therapy that works to balance the mind and body, leaving the client feeling more restored and centred in their body. Originating in Japan with traditional Chinese medicine foundations and principles of anatomy, physiology and pathology, shiatsu is an integrated and holistic practice. It is a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can alleviate stress, illness and maintain health and wellbeing.

The person receiving shiatsu is fully clothed and lying comfortably on a futon. Each treatment is unique and specific to the client’s needs. A practitioner uses thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to apply pressure to various parts of the body, depending on the condition being treated. Treatments also include flowing stretches and gentle rotations of the limbs and joints, simple structural alignments and muscle release techniques. On a physical level, this has the effect of stimulating circulation, flow of lymphatic fluid, and helps to release toxins and deep-seated tension from the muscles. On a subtler level, shiatsu allows the client to deeply relax and stimulates the body’s inherent ability for self healing and regeneration.

Each treatment includes an individual consultation to tailor the treatment to you, shiatsu treatment (massage, body work, stretches), and seasonal herbal tea.

For your convenience and pure relaxation, treatments are done in house at the farm. So you can sit by the fire or soak in the spa bath after your treatment in the comfort of your own cottage without having to leave the property.
