shiatsu and oriental therapies

(available from May 2018)

Shiatsu is a physical therapy that originated in Japan from traditional Chinese medicine, with influences from more recent Western therapies. A Shiatsu practitioner uses touch, comfortable pressure and stretches to balance the body's energy flow and relieve any muscular tension or aches. It is a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and well-being.

Where required, complementary techniques such as sotai (gentle stretches),  moxa (heat therapy using mugwort herbs applied directly to the skin on specific acupoints) and cupping can be used in a treatment.
