Yarra Valley Archery Park Just 10 minutes away is the Yarra Valley Archery Park with an indoor archery range, undercover golf driving bays, indoor cricket net and bowling machines, pool table, cafe, and more.
Mount Donna Buang 20 - 45 mins (depending on route) from Hill 'n' Dale is Mount Donna Buang; an ideal location for sightseeing and bushwalking, or snowplay in Winter with three toboggan runs. The Rainforest Gallery with it's spectacular observation platform and rainforest walkway is on the southern slopes of Mount Donna Buang.
Or, for a mountain of snowplay and cross country skiing there is Lake Mountain Alpine Resort (about 1 hr 15mins from Hill 'n' Dale).
Hedgend Maze In Healesville (20 mins away) there is Hedgend Maze with lots of activities for the kids including two mazes and mini golf.
Warburton Rail Trail Close by (15 mins from Hill 'n' Dale) is the famous Warburton Rail Trail. Victoria's most popular rail trail. It is 40 km long with the valley as a specatular back drop. You will need to bring your own bikes for the trail (or hire them).
Or, even closer to Hill 'n' Dale (10 mins), is the O'Shannassy Aqueduct Track which follows the historic open channelled O'Shannassy Aqueduct as it meanders through pristine forests and fern gullies with spectacular views of the valley.
Yarra Valley Tourist Railway Also in Healesville is the Yarra Valley Tourist Railway where the family can take a trolley ride through the valley.
Puffing Billy & the Dandenongs Puffing Billy is Australia's oldest surviving steam railway and takes you on a 25 km through lush forests. (50 mins from Hill 'n' Dale)
